Reference: SY-04
Duration: 2 Day(s)

Description

This course is designed for technical managers requiring an overview of the notation and concepts of the Systems Modeling Language (SysML). It is delivered within the context of an iterative and incremental life-cycle to equip managers with the skills necessary to communicate with developers effectively and manage projects successfully.

Delegates are introduced to the notation and diagrams used to express static and dynamic views of a system. They are then led through an iterative and incremental life-cycle experiencing how to plan and track iterations.

Throughout this course ample opportunity is given to discussing the organisation’s process and the impact of SysML upon it.

Content

  • An Introduction to SysML
  • How to capture requirements using requirement diagrams
  • How to read use case diagrams
  • How to read use case scenarios
  • How to understand the system behaviour expressed using state machines
  • How to identify system architectural components
  • How to achieve reuse between projects
  • How SysML maps to the development lifecycle
  • How to plan effort based upon use cases
  • Prioritisation of requirements and increment backlogs
  • How to plan and track iterations and increments
  • How SysML can be effectively deployed

Who should attend

Projects managers who wish to understand how SysML can be effectively employed within their organisation.

Prerequisites

An understanding of the system devevlopment lifecycle is recommended to attend this course.
